Her life’s story resembles the fairytale about Cinderella. After years of hard labor, a poor girl from Fårösund manages to make the best of the golden era of railroading, and builds and successfully manages elegant hotels nearby railway stations. Later, she also becomes the general manager of the best hotel in Sweden. Although this story does not have a happy ending, to this day, a portrait of Wilhelmina Skogh can be seen in the center of the lobby in the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm.
