John Q. Hammons - The legendary hotel developer

John Q. Hammons

The legendary hotel developer

His life resembled a never-ending Monopoly game. Just as a player moving on the board, he travelled across the entire United States for fifty years, looking for the right locations, purchasing land and developing it with hotels at the right moments. Owing to his intuition, knowledge and experience, he became the greatest independent hotel developer in America. Like no other, he built there over two hundred facilities under the brands Holiday Inn, Embassy Suites, Marriott, Sheraton, Residence Inn, Radisson and Plaza Hotels. The hotel industry and his guests will also remember him as a man who could turn an ordinary hotel into “another exceptional hotel by John Q. Hammons.”
