He wanted to become the top multifamily developer in the United States, and he will go down in history as the originator of an extended-stay hotel concept. From the very beginning, he concluded that one guest who pays for fourteen nights is better than fourteen guests who pay for a single night. He perfectly specified the target market and, by deciphering its key needs, created a completely new product, which was a hybrid of an apartment building and a limited-service hotel.
