Anna Sacher - The queen of the Austrian hospitality industry

Anna Sacher

The queen of the Austrian hospitality industry

Anna Sacher is an Austrian female counterpart of Cesar Ritz who turned a common flophouse into one of the most excellent hotels of her time. It is said that the entire Austria used to sleep at Hotel Sacher. Writer Ernst Hagen claimed that the Viennese crème de la crème used to meet at the hotel, whose suites served as the background for historical events, major decisions, loud scandals and affairs. The entire establishment was meticulously attended to by Anna Sacher, who became a true legend in the hospitality industry, whereas her hotel remains a symbol of Vienna, just as the famous Sachertorte invented by her father-in-law does.
